At the outset a very Happy New Year to all colleagues and friends.

After COVID it has been a year of disruptions, innovations, and changes. Every part of the world is dealing with some crisis, be it economic, political or war which has brought with it uncertainty, but as all mankind always does, we will keep pushing forward in 2023. Hopefully, we can look back after 12 months to find that the new year has brought in cheer, improvements and the best in a lot of people and businesses. For the construction industry, this year should also bring in stability in the workforce migration although the availability of jobs will be on the rise.

Workforce stability will also stabilize construction companies. Young engineering professionals hopefully will not be dominated by management professionals who understand only the bottom line. Promoting sustainable design, development, correct construction practices, and reducing energy consumption are some of the important considerations for the construction industry in a project to make it viable for the developer, contractor, consultants, and the ultimate buyer without compromising on the quality.
