Data Centres has turned out to be a segment of the Real Estate industry that has been hot for the past couple of years, and growing hotter by the day.

Increasing digitization, e-commerce, migration to the cloud platform, IoT linked devices, data localization and the likely 5G roll out have all combined to drive the demand for data centres. The constraints imposed on physical meeting and interaction during the pandemic has only added fuel to the fire. India has more internet users than Europe but less than one tenth of their data centre capacity! That signifies the pent-up demand that will continue to drive growth in this segment.

Data centres have very high power demands as compared to other buildings, and due to the heating that takes place, it also has high demand for cooling systems! The data centres have therefore, a large impact on the environment and there is a need and drive to reduce carbon footprint of their operations.

All in all, we can expect exciting times ahead with more and more technologically demanding work for the contractors and consultants!
