Past one year all mankind from all over the world has been discussing COVID- the unprecedented situation which the world at large is facing. COVID has also been a part of all our discussions too. Each one has had to make compromises personally and professionally impacting our life and lifestyles.
The second wave is at its peak at the moment. No one wanted to a lockdown but it was necessary.
Reports about the construction industry say that Covid’s second wave is unlikely to substantially impact large construction companies. It is also said that projects situated within the urban areas such as metro-rail projects, building construction etc. are likely to feel a greater impact due to local restrictions and reverse migration of labour.
Unlike the first wave, there is no nationwide lockdown but localized lockdown with exemption for construction activities.
This is heartening for the industry. With all the correct precautions, we as an industry should ensure that our workers and construction professionals are taken well of and we emerge out of this situation safe and sound to march ahead for a normal personal as well as professional life without having to make compromises.
