Light at the end of the tunnel
With the world’s largest vaccination programme launched and steadily reducing number of new cases, things are indeed looking up on Covid front. The fear that had gripped everyone and paralyzed businesses is not visible anymore. It is replaced by cautious optimism. While the future will henceforth always remain more unpredictable, I think all of us have learnt a lesson in dealing with this. I hope that the annual budget carries enough bangs to hasten the recovery.
While there are still many individuals looking out for jobs, the desperation is missing. Many have used this opportunity to try their hand at entrepreneurship and some have turned gig workers. Both these trends, if sustained, portend a very different employee market than the past. Add the impact of AI and we are again looking at the unpredictability of it all!
To the best of my knowledge, no renowned astrologer predicted the turn of events unequivocally. That doesn’t prevent me from wishing for a twenty first century Nostradamus!
